Audrey Hepburn shared this poem with her children on the last Christmas Eve she spent here on Earth. I just like what it says and felt like posting it!

Time Tested Beauty Tips

For attractive lips, speak words of kindness.

For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.

For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.

For beautiful hair, let a child run his or her fingers through it once a day.

For poise, walk with the knowledge you'll never walk alone.

People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed; Never throw out anybody.

Remember, If you ever need a helping hand, you'll find one at the end of your arm.

Over Pioneer Day Weekend/my birthday, my sisters and I went camping with Dalton Gardens Ward. The rest of my family came up on my birthday and had a blast! Just not so much the next day. :) Anyways, here is that boatload of pictures I took!

Oz

Recently we had a family reunion out of town, so we had someone come to our house daily and take care of our dogs. On the second day that we were gone, we got a call from the girl, Alyssa Tomblin, who was watching our dogs. She, sobbing over the phone, told us that Oz had died. She told my mom that she had gone over earlier that morning to take care of our dogs, and Oz was just laying in our boat house and didn't move around as much as usual (He had been like this since the 4th of July). Then, she went home and a few hours later felt that she should go back to our house. She did so and couldn't find Oz. Finally, she found him lying under our boat, motionless. He had died from being poisoned by a dead bird he had found earlier that week.

This was a shock to all of us and we will always miss the fun, hard-working personality of Oz. He was such a wonderful dog and always tried to do his best at being obedient and loyal. He will always have a place in my heart.

Independence Day

For the 4th of July, I woke up and went to the parade downtown with my parents, Noelle, my grandparents and Mandy. My dad participated in the 1-mile run before the parade starts and did awesome! After that, we dropped Mandy off at her house and went home to barbeque. Then, we went to the Herns' lakehouse and had fun there for awhile. When it got later, we left to go watch fireworks at Honeysuckle beach and ran into the Myers. They came home with us afterwards and we set off our own fireworks. It was pretty much a fun day!

EFY 2009: Be Thou An Example

Last week, I got to attend an EFY session in Rexburg, Idaho at BYU-I. I went down with Emmalee and David Priebe, Melissa and Jamin Jeske, Melissa's friend, Jessica, Ashley Whiteley, TeAnn Dryden, Courtney Gunnerson and Kendall DeWitt. Some of the Priebes, Jeskes, Whiteleys and Gunnersons also came down, but kept traveling down to Utah after dropping us off at BYU-I. I had sooooo much fun meeting new friends, learning more about the gospel, strengthening my testimony, and so much more!


This is on our way down to Rexburg in the Priebe's big van. In the upper left corner, Courtney and I decided to wash the car windows at every gas station...even when it was raining. We got to stop by the temple before we checked in for EFY. It was (and still is) beautiful!

One of our roommates' moms brought us McDonald's hamburgers at about 11:00 pm. They were amazingly scrumptious--so scrumptious that Kendall said she could marry her's. So, I decided to take wedding announcement photos. This would be one of them.

This was another hyper night. Kendall and one of our roommates, Steph, were acting like old grandpas. We got it on Steph's video camera too (well, we taped it on her camera).


Then, another one of our roommates found this absolutely beautiful purple dress in the back of her closet. We all took turns trying it on. (The girl who tried it on before me had just showered and her hair was wet, so that's why there's water on the dress.)
