Oz

Recently we had a family reunion out of town, so we had someone come to our house daily and take care of our dogs. On the second day that we were gone, we got a call from the girl, Alyssa Tomblin, who was watching our dogs. She, sobbing over the phone, told us that Oz had died. She told my mom that she had gone over earlier that morning to take care of our dogs, and Oz was just laying in our boat house and didn't move around as much as usual (He had been like this since the 4th of July). Then, she went home and a few hours later felt that she should go back to our house. She did so and couldn't find Oz. Finally, she found him lying under our boat, motionless. He had died from being poisoned by a dead bird he had found earlier that week.

This was a shock to all of us and we will always miss the fun, hard-working personality of Oz. He was such a wonderful dog and always tried to do his best at being obedient and loyal. He will always have a place in my heart.

The last picture I took of Oz--a day before we left. I love the twinkle in his eye!
